"GET TEXTUAL" WITH THE DIXIE BEE-LINERS TO WIN A FREE BLACKBERRY® PEARL 8130™ SMARTPHONE!
The Dixie Bee-Liners are getting textual, and they're inviting music lovers to join in! Throughout the month of June, the award-winning bluegrass ensemble will run a special text-in tour promotion as they travel the United States and Canada. The name of the tour? The 2009 Textual Activity Tour, of course.
Here's how it works:
- Each day in June, The Dixie Bee-Liners will post a special buzzword on their various websites (Dixiebeeliners.com, Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace).
- From 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Eastern Time, music lovers can text the day's buzzword, along with their full name, to (215) 738-9269.
- The first five texts will win VIP passes to the following day's show, plus free gifts!
- Every text gives fans a chance to win the Grand Prize -- a Free BlackBerry® Pearl 8130™ smartphone! (Limit: one text per day, per person.) The Grand Prize drawing will take place on July 1, 2009.
- BRING A FRIEND BONUS! Text in the buzzword, and bring a friend to the show! You'll receive $1 off at the DBL merchandise table for every friend you bring. Just sign your friends in at the door!

BUSY BEE-LINERS RECORD SUSANVILLE
The Dixie Bee-Liners' new cd, Susanville, is currently being recorded! The project, due out in October 2009, is once again being produced and engineered by Nashville-based audio wiz Bil VornDick.
Lead singer Brandi Hart had this to say about the project: "Susanville is the first of several bluegrass concept records we've been planning. It's all about journeys and destinations. If you can imagine being able to look down into every car on the highway and tell the stories of the people inside, that's what Susanville will be like."
In true Bee-Liner fashion, the band promises to deliver its custom blend of traditional and contemporary sounds. Expect banjos, fiddles, guitars, and mandolins... but also bouzoukis, dulcimers, cellos, and a few other instrumental surprises. Also, look for cameo appearances by Grammy winner John Jorgenson, plus '60s country songstress Kay Adams, and Wayne Wilson of Buck Owens' Buckaroos.
"This project was truly a group effort," notes mandolinist Buddy Woodward. All the songs on Susanville were written or co-written by members of the band. We collaborated with Ken Stringfellow (formerly of The Posies) on a couple of tunes, and Night Drivers' bassist Jon Weisberger also contributed to the original material."

DBLs NAMED BLUEGRASS ARTIST OF THE YEAR
The Roots Music Association has named The Dixie Bee-Liners as Bluegrass Artist of the Year for 2008. The award presentation was made at the first annual World United Music Conference, held in November '08 in San Marcos, TX. The band would like to thank all of our friends and fans who voted for us!
