Proving just what an incredibly tight-knit arts community we have in Southwest Virginia: Actors and members of the Barter Theatre community came together on Tuesday night, August 10, to help raise funds for The Dixie Bee-Liners' Totally Awesome (and Totally Expensive!) 2010 U.K. Tour. There was music and poetry from Barter actors, plus silent auctions, delicious refreshments, and plenty of fun to spare! And of course... The Dixie Bee-Liners made a rare, intimate appearance with special guest dobroist Todd Livingston. The fundraiser was more successful than we could have dreamed -- raising us to 68% of our tour support goal. We'd like to thank all of our friends and fans who participated in the event. Please know that the contributions of your time, talents, and funds helped ease some of the stress and financial strain out of this enormously thrilling, career-advancing opportunity for the band.
